New Year, New You

Physical wellness has a direct correlation to a healthy well-being. Try out this new mantra, “New Year, New you.”

Physical wellness doesn’t have to be going to a gym or working out for hours, it can simply be taking a few minutes for yourself. Every one of us has a busy schedule, but think of all of those slivers of time that we actually DO have to do something active. Instead of scrolling through our phone or sitting idly binging our favorite television show, try making time for self-care. Here are some simple tips that you can quickly implement:

-Take 5-10 minutes for meditation or breathing exercise

-Take a short walk or run around the block…even if it’s at lunchtime. No need to be a serious runner, just take a brisk walk to get the blood flowing.

-Exercise classes: There are a ton of resources, both remote or in-person. Having an instructor will maximize time efficiency, create some accountability (especially if in a group setting).

There are many wellness apps that include meditation, breathing exercises, and fitness classes all in the palm of your hand.

Start small—start with the realistic and attainable goal of 20-30 minutes daily. No matter how busy you think you are, you can make time if you make it a priority. It’s a New Year, be a new you.
